The first week of the #PictYourBooks challenge is complete, and I'm glad I got to hear from so many of you. There were two surprises for me. First, it was surprising that three different classes shared the the same book. Second, I really thought someone would share the book Wonder by R. J. Palacio since so many older elementary students have read it and school plays such a big role in Auggie's story.
Speaking of Wonder, a strong friendship develops between Auggie and Jack Will during the story. Thinking about their friendship was the inspiration for this week's challenge:
Challenge #2: Share a book where two or more characters are great friends.
You have one week to submit your answer before we move on to week 3. Answers can be submitted three ways. Snap a picture of any book that answers the challenge and:
- text it to (715) 903-6455
- email it to PictYourBooks@gmail.com
- respond to @HelpReaders on Twitter
Remember to include the week number. You may also include who the image is from, like a teacher's name, and a description of how the book answers the challenge. Writing information on a sticky note and including it right in the picture is a great idea!
